National Scrapbooking Day

Alright, so today is Cinco de Mayo. Woot? I know it sounds strange but the part of this day that I am excited about is that it may be Cinco de Mayo, but it is also NATIONAL SCRAPBOOKING DAY!!!! I know, I'm obsessed, but it's a great hobby, and yes it can be a bit expensive if you don't have the ability to be frugal, but... who cares, it still rocks.

Today I am learning something, being pregnant makes your legs hurt. A lot. My legs are killing me. I feel like I need to go... I don't know cut off my legs. Probably not the best idea, but then they wont hurt... or at least it wont be the same type of pain, plus i will have LOTS of pain killers for my intense pain, which i just realized I wont be able to take because I'm pregnant, which is the reason that I am in said pain in the first place. DANG IT GET THE BABY OUT ALREADY.

Hormones: What they REALLY are.

It's offical. I am now in my second trimester! Finally! I have come to the conclusion that hormones of pregnancy are not actual hormones, simply the stress of being pregnant and all the things that need to be done in the 9 month period of time all coming together at the exact same time in Mommy-to-be's head. That is my theory.

Today is April 29th, 2007 the first day of the 12th week of my first pregnancy. Finally I am nearing the end of my first trimester, supposedly I won't feel nearly as nauseous any more. I don't believe the people who have told me that. But I guess I might want to listen to them, since most of the people telling me this have either been pregnant before, or are writing books about being pregnant. So they all have some sort of knowledge in the area in question.

You are probably wondering a little bit about me and why I'm here telling you all sorts of, well, random things about me. Well for starters, My name is Rachel. I am currently Active Duty Air Force, though I will shortly be getting out. Also, I an avid scrapbooker. those people who say it's addicting, ya they are right. I have been scrapbooking since I was in high school. I now have 4 soon to be 5 books that are in the works. I just realized the other night that I have a complete book!!! I am so proud I finally finished one! But anyway, now you understand the name.

Nick, the love of my life, is also Active Duty Air Force. We met in Texas in late 2005 and became friends and when we both got sent to McGuire AFB, NJ where we currently reside, we became even closer friends and shortly thereafter started dating. Since January of 2006 we have been practically inseparable. With the exception of my four month deployment that I just recently returned from and Nick's six month deployment which he left for in March. For those of you who are wondering, yes we did get a chance to see each other, obviously, because I am pregnant. Anyway, we are both incredibly excited about all this, and though we miss each other so much, at least we have learned how to communicate. But more about me later.

In my 10th week I got to have an ultrasound done. That was really exciting. I got to hear the fetal heartbeat, which is an incredible thing to listen to. Plus I got a picture, which thanks to my Mac, (which to those of you who are curious, don't get one, I'm not fond of it but it was a gift so I'm not complaining, it gets the job done.) I was able to immediately send it to Nick, which he was thrilled about. He is very nervous that he is going to inadvertently get left out since he is 6,000 miles away. Which I guess makes since, I would probably feel the same way if I was him.
